No sex before marriage = bad at sex?

So I saw this video posted up around the place. It is promoting a tv show called the Virgin Diaries and is basically meant to be quite hilarious because these just-married virgins don’t even know how to kiss properly…but I don’t quite get it :/ ? Just because you choose not to have sex before marriage does not mean you are devoid of sensuality, expressed sexuality, etc.
I mean, humans are just animals after all and we have animal instincts, and having sex is a pretty basic animal instinct…I’m pretty sure you don’t have to have done it before to know how to do it and do it well!
Just seems to me like it is going along with the notion that you have to have loads of sex with a variety of partners in order not to be a “prude” or a “frigid” or a bad lover. If you choose to save it for love or keep sex sacred in nature, it doesn’t always equate to bad sex…
I think the devaluation of sex as performance & public spectacle is part of this problem, so too is television/screen media’s need to ridicule to grab audience attention. Why anyone would watch more than 21seconds of this is beyond me. And yes, the other implicit message could well be sexual promiscuity = cool, even desirable.
Good call Sandra – I’ve never thought of it that way…
